Essentially 'music camp for adults', Shabby Chic Musique was founded in January 2024 by composer Sarah Thomas, saxophonist + clarinetist Chris Caldwell, and flautist, Susie Hodder-Williams

This exciting new initiative is aimed at enabling adults to escape the daily grind and reconnect with their musical past, surrounded by like-minded people for a long weekend in the tranquility of a château in the Southern French countryside.

Our first event will take place from 25-28 April 2024 at Château du Raysse in the Dordogne, South West France.  Nearest airports are Brive-Souillac, Bergerac & Toulouse.

Join Susie, Sarah and Chris for an unforgettable long weekend of learning, laughing, sipping wine and generally reliving the fun and camaraderie of group music that so often departs from our lives when we graduate to the world of adulthood.

Château du Raysse is a charming Medieval castle dating back to 1155, situated in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne department in South West France.

The château's bedrooms have been carefully restored to provide guests with an authentic experience but with all the modern comforts.  All bedrooms are en-suite (or have a private bathroom), offering you complete privacy.

The château's extensive grounds allow you to completely unwind.  We are carefully planning the itinerary to allow you time to lose yourself in the tranquil surroundings, whiling away the hours with a good book or maybe even composing your next oeuvre!
